He has performed in countries ranging from Canada, Czech Republic, Germany, Slovakia, Austria, and Switzerland. About Mitch

Classical Guitarist Mitch Turbenson is an exciting talent with many unique and astonishing accomplishments. Performing since the age of seven, he has been a top prizewinner at international competitions including: William Wolfe Competition (2008, 2009, 2010), Norman Sholin Guitar Competition (2009, 2010), Thomas Beeston Guitar Competition (2009), Eastern Carolina University Guitar Competition (2007), and University of Houston's Classical Minds Guitar Competition (2009), among others. He has been a student of Professor Frank Koonce (Arizona State University), Professor Thomas Patterson (University of Arizona), and Professor Thomas Müller-Pering (Liszt Academie für Musik). He has also performed for such classical guitar virtuosos as Roland Dyens, Oscar Ghiglia, David Russell, the Assad Brothers, and Hubert Kappel.




Mitch Turbenson has been invited to countless countries to perform in classical guitar and music festivals. These countries include: Canada, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, Switzerland, and Germany. He has entertained audiences that have included Justice Sandra Day O'Connor and singer Jessye Norman, among many other luminaries. Besides classical guitar, Mitch is also a bassoonist and classical pianist. With the bassoon, Mitch studies with Professor William Dietz and performs regularly with the Philharmonic Orchestra at the UA. He was the recipient of the Flinn Foundation's Scholarship for merit in Arizona and was recently named Honors Sophomore of the Year from the University of Arizona. As a current junior, Mitch is finishing his degrees in Classical Guitar and Mathematics at the University of Arizona and hopes to continue his passion for performing for various audiences after graduation.
