I am a singer songwriter who has spent the last 20 years in the Army. I retire from the Army this year at the age of 40. I have written a few songs and have demo recorded around 12 at this time. I have a country background and sound country when I sing. I am no longer persuing the performance side of music but rather the songwriters side. I understand that marketing is the biggest factor when looking at a new artist and at 40 my marketability would be an almost impossible task. I enjoy writing when I get a good hook or great avenue on a idea. I will continue to write as long as I fell I am not wasteing my time. In short I am a very busy person and don't have time to just sit and write about anything that comes along. I limit writing to a great idea or hook and spend a good deal of time on that one hook or idea until I get it where it is presentable. I usually write alone.
