Maro - a.k.a Radiotechnik - is a skilled and schooled producer with an extraordinary talent for translating ideas and visions quickly and creatively into phenomenal music. Within the past three years his productions generated over 380,000 downloads and helped to sells tens of thousands of CD's without the benefit - or added expense - of any major promotional campaigns.
Rocbattle.com, a site that hosts over 30,000 producers from all over the world, ranks him in its Top 10 list in monthly rankings and has twice this year named him "Hip Hop King of the Month."
Along the way Maro has worked with a wide range of productions that included artists like, Pharell Williams , Raekwon, Freestyle, Ne-Yo, , The Rza , Star, Shabbaz The Disciple, Methodman, Killa Army, and others - including significant international underground projects.
Maro draws upon a deep well of knowledge of music production and sound engineering while relying upon keen intuitions refined over his 12 years in the music industry. In doing so he brings his clients a full compliment of unique and valuable resources.
Rather than limit himself to one artistic arena, Maro collaborates with artists from a diversity of genres including hip hop, modern pop, dance, folk, jazz, and Gipsy music. His music production skills have been used not just for CDs but also for live performances, film soundtracks, commercials, and Web sites. And he collaborates with artists from Angola to Sweden and from the Middle East to Jamaica, thanks to an innovation he created for online production.
"Home recording is the most common technique these days," Maro explains. "So I developed a special way of working online on mixes and remixes. Now people from all over the world send me their material via the Internet and I mix it in my studio and send it back."
A native of Warsaw, Poland, Maro comes from a family of unusually eclectic musicians. His father was a DJ, his uncle was in a jazz group (Chopin Novi Singers), and his cousin sings opera. Maro himself has been a keyboard player for more than a decade, and began his own DJ career around age 14. Soon he was arranging, mixing, composing, recording, producing, and accepting gigs as a sound engineer. He earned a university degree in sound engineering, became a certified Apple trainer for Logic Pro software, and began researching his Masters thesis on acoustics.
Because of his vast experience, open mind, and broad professional repertoire he can intuitively grasp suggestions and concepts and convert them into real music with exceptional speed, fluidity, and insight. Maro's clients include UNICEF and Amnesty International, and he is a social worker in the Marathon Foundation, where he leads music production workshops and recording technique classes for children with disabilities. The courses Maro participates in are so popular that Marathon is building a second studio to accommodate all the kids who want to join in.
Meanwhile Maro continues to contribute his talent and energy to others through a variety of venues and means, including his own project - Grogra.com - which helps to showcase and encourage unknown artists from places including Afghanistan and Angola. The organization has been supported by big names like Raekwon and Freestyle and has been instrumental in the emergence of uncommon styles of Hip Hop like that performed by Formacja Cmentarz of Poland.
