I am a 20-year-old solo female singer/songwriter with influences ranging from jazz and bossa nova to folk. After leaving Berklee College of Music I recorded and co-produced my first EP that I released on September 22, 2009 and it is available on CDBaby and iTunes. I play about six or seven shows a month around Central and South Florida at venues, non-profit events and festivals. My next gigs for November include the Deland Original Music Festival, a venue in Lake City and a college in Orlando. I've been compared to Corinne Bailey Rae, Jason Mraz and Anna Nalick, and I take a lot of pride in my self-taught, more than the key of G guitar skills. At the end of November I will begin recording and co-producing my first full-length album expected to be released next fall.
Blooming is Only the Beginning
In a world where the Top 40 and Auto-Tune reign supreme, singer/songwriter Mandy Burgan hopes to give people something new to talk about. Fresh, diverse and undeniably talented, Burgan has wowed a wide range of audiences in Orlando, Miami, Sarasota and Tampa. With influences that vary from the bluesy chord progressions of John Mayer to the worldly beats of Antonio Carlos Jobim, she is not your typical coffee shop crooner. Her fans include college attendees, middle and high school students, working mothers, college professors and retired seniors. The ability to connect with virtually everyone through her Jazzy-acoustic genre is a rarity that most treasure when it is discovered. Burgan performs completely original instrumentals, lyrics with a little hint of stand-up comedy in between songs which captivate and entertain audiences. With the release of her first EP, "Bloom", at the end of last September, Burgan has expanded her fan base through iTunes and CDBaby. Non-profit events, festivals and local venues are only a few of the locations where she has made an outstanding impact. After recording for the next eight months, her first full-length album is scheduled to be released in the Fall of 2010. Of course it does not stop there because blooming is only the beginning.
