Mandi Leigh Biography

Mandi Leigh breaks the mold with her NVE Records debut album release, "BLVD." The release, self-written by the self-proclaimed "California girl" captures the inspiration behind the project beautifully, making it a smooth ride for her listeners.

"For me," Leigh says, "BLVD. encompasses all the different charming aspects that I love about living, working & playing on the West Coast and being a true California girl. It's what inspired me to chase after my dream."

From infectious dance beat driven pop numbers such as "Whipped Cream" and "Girls Out" featuring hip-hop new-comer Med Schola, to the soulful melodic ballads such as "Shadow Dancer", a tribute to Michael Jackson who she counts as an inspiration and "Home Suite Home", a word-play number that speaks about life on the road, the album is sure to captivate a diverse audience.

Mandi ,born in Orange County, CA is no stranger to the music industry. She discovered early in her life that she wanted to do nothing more than sing and perform. Since the young age of eight ,when she published for a poem she wrote on ending world violence, Leigh has been hard at work on her rise to success and has continued her writing efforts by penning her debut album as well as many film soundtrack projects along the way. She is also in the process of publishing her first young adult fiction novel due out late 2010/early 2011.

"This album is a story I wanted to tell that shows all sides of who I am. The girl who loves to have fun, who wants to get out there and dance, the girl who's living her dream in Hollywood and the girl who just wants to find love and close the door to my day and just be me, in the quiet." Leigh says.

Her first single off the album, "Hotter Than Fire" featuring NVE label mate Vernac, premiered June 22nd,2010 worldwide to rave reviews and began playing on radio stations and in nightclubs worldwide. Her "On The BLVD." tour, in support of the release, kicked off June 19th in Ontario, CA and is currently continuing throughout the U.S. until December 2010.

"I've recorded a lot of music through the years, mixing a lot of different genres and I am very comfortable with where I've found my home. Music is my passion, it's my heart, and when my words and melodies connect to those who hear it, I've found my place." Leigh says. "My goal for 2009 was just to continue performing and hopefully find a home with a label. I've accomplished that and my goal this year is to get the album to as many ears as possible and share my passion. I'd also like to get back into acting, possibly do a sitcom or drama series in the next couple of years."

Leigh is truly a jack of all trades fueled by determination, talent and a heart for what's she most passionate about. The music.
