KeyKat is a duo that when seen they will never be forgotten, like Ashford and Simpson, Ike and Tina etc, etc. Unlike these greats, this young dynamic duo has a name for themselves individually, but create fire when united. Keyon Harrold has performed trumpet, produced, composed, recorded with and/or toured with Common, Na2, Snoop Dogg, Chinah Blac, PJ Morton, Prince, Erykah Badu, Wynton Marsalis, G-Unit, Fred Hammond, The Count Basie Orchestra, Youthful Praise, Macy Gray and the list goes on and on. His other half, Katty Rodriguez-Harrold, made her name on sax, but began singing at the age of 19 in a jam session led by her partner Keyon Harrold, Robert Glasper and the artist known as "Bilal". She has played, recorded and or sung with Jazz, Latin and Hip Hop greats James Spaulding, Patato Valdez, Marcus Persianni, Louis Bauso, Steve White and Destiny’s Child. Kat has recently joined Superstar BEYONCE’S All Female Band, and Kat will be on tour with her for the next year. This duo work together as artist and producer and also as sax, flute and trumpet horn section making them like no other. Keyon’s beats are so illustrious but original because they sound like written philharmonic scores but have the hardcore backbeat to them like Dr.Dre’s beats, however unlike any other producer out there because of his knowledge of composition and improvisation and the fact that both Key and Kat play the horns his beats have the orchestration touch with live instrumentation not samples. They both write the lyrics to their songs and they both work on the music to their songs, even though they both have their forte in each area. Their up coming album is in the horizon and will be one of the hottest and original styles ever.

Katty Rodriguez-Harrold aka “Kat” is a beautiful multitalented, complete musician in all of its many splendor. She is an incredible saxophonist, songwriter, songstress, arranger and composer as well as an aspiring producer, who is now gracing the world’s stage with Superstar BEYONCE KNOWLES.
At the age of 10, encouraged by her percussionist father, Kat picked up her first musical instrument, the clarinet. After a couple years of practice and lessons at the Harlem School of the Arts, she landed her first gig at Harlem’s Apollo theatre as the featured clarinetist in the classic, “The Nutcracker Suite”. Later realizing that the clarinet and classical music was not the only musical career she wanted to pursue, she switched to the alto saxophone and began to learn jazz and other contemporary styles of music. As her reputation grew as a young female virtuoso she mastered all of the other saxophones as well as flute and the clarinet, and was accepted into the prestigious arts high school LaGuardia High School of Performing Arts formerly known as "fame," there she learned from and performed with Master Trumpeter Jon Faddis, and the worlds Voice of Jazz, Wynton Marsalis. As a result of her success Kat was invited to sit in on college courses with the acclaimed composer and tenor saxophonist, Ray Santos at New York’s City College.
In 2001, Kat was awarded the international Women in Jazz award by legendary bassist Caroline Ray and Vocalist Lenora Helm. And from that she received a fellowship to study music with Saxophonist/recording artist Antonio Hart. After auditioning for several colleges Kat accepted a full Scholarship to Mannes Jazz Program at New School University in New York City, where she graduated with a BFA in Jazz Saxophone and Composition.
While studying in college, Kat found herself undercut sometimes for performance opportunities because of her gender. So instead of sitting around and being overshadowed by her male counterparts, she formed an all female band called “Addictive Mama,” where she began a career in singing and also developed her unique writing, arranging and producing style while performing at hot spots along the east coast.
Since then Kat has gone on to perform with the likes of R&B/Soul Singer Phenomenon Bilal Oliver, Latin Singer Adela Dalto, Blue Note Recording Artist Robert Glasper, Legendary Alto Saxophonist James Spaulding, Esteemed Horn Section Mo’ Horns, Latin Percussionist Louis Bauso and Patato Valdes, JJ Hairston And Youthful Praise, Opened up for the Super Hip-Hop Band The Roots as well as many others in the Jazz and Latin Jazz scene. Kat has recorded with Destiny’s Child, DJ Mark Ronson, Rap Artist Mobb Deep, Producer Songwriter PJ Morton, Gospel artist Kierra Sheard, Trumpeter/Producer Keyon Harrold and KeyKat Productions, to name a few.
Kat has recently joined Superstar BEYONCE’S All Female Band, and Kat will be on tour with her for the next year. Kat can be seen on The BET awards ‘06 with the Superstar.
Also look for Kat’s solo project coming next spring.

Keyon Harrold is a talented trumpeter/composer/producer from the same hometown as legend Miles Davis, Saint Louis, Missouri. He has one of the most fresh and unique approaches to improvisation on the jazz scene today. He is a graduate of New School University Mannes Jazz Program. He is a protégé of the esteemed voice of jazz, Wynton Marsalis who speaks of Keyon in a Down Beat magazine artice"Talkin' Trumpets" Marsalis sais"Keyon Harrold is the future of the trumpet". And he is one of the most sought after trumpeters in the world.
Keyon is a versatile musician who has performed with a variety of artists in all kinds of settings. He has done Broadway shows to touring with rapper Snoop Dogg and everything in between including gospel, jazz, R&B, afro-beat, salsa, and more.

Keyon is currently leading is own Quartet/Quintet and is often seen in venues in New York like The Jazz Gallery, Dizzy’s Club Coca Cola,The jazz Standard, Smalls or Fat cat Jazz Club, The Bluenote and others. He is a member of Mo Horns, and also leads his own Horn Section around the country.
He has studied music with Jimmy Owens, Laurie Frink, Susan Slaughter, Charles Tolliver, Cecil Bridgewater, and Eddie Henderson. And now he teaches music privately. He teaches trumpet, music theory, improvisation beginning to advanced levels.
