Kevin is a singer/songwriter that plays multiple instruments, but mainly piano and synthesizers. His many styles range from piano instrumentals to pop, new age, classical, country and rock.
Growing Up
My parents bought a house when I was 5. It came with a piano. Luck or destiny, it defined my life. No one had to ask me to practice, I just did it. Hours at a time, lost in a sense of magic that was familiar, yet missing, from my average life. The peace that music gave me led to meditation, and at first I heard people sighing of 'poverty' and 'inequality''. But deeper in the silence of meditation I heard a sweeter sound, and it was a happy, 'yes' sound.
The Bands KYO and Peace by Piece
I've formed many bands in my life. The first and probably most satisfying was KYO. I'll be adding that music to this site shortly. It went through many variations of talented musicians. But always there with me was my talented little brother Thom on guitar, vocals and songwriting. We played so many gigs and had so much fun. Most importantly, we had many great friends and fans that made it all mean something special. I hope to see them all again someday. We practiced in the basement of my parent's house in Central Falls, RI. This is a small immigrant/factory town, only 1 square mile in size, with a population density that was once 3rd in the world with over 20,000 inhabitants. Not a lot of upward mobility, but a place where you could always find friends for a pick up game of baseball in the school yard. It was an environment that spawned many garage bands hoping to make it out.
The Jade Band
I currently play keyboards for the original rock band . We have great songs and numerous gigs. We have some music that will be appearing on a Discovery Channel Television show, Biker Buildoff, on October 9th, 2006. This is a very exciting event and we hope it leads to better things in the future.
