About Us

At the age of 14, Justin Hind was already writing songs that experienced songwriters would be envious of. While listening to Ben Folds, Counting Crows, and other similar bands, Justin developed a distinct approach to songwriting and a nine-years-in-the-making piano style to match. The only thing missing was a band.

At the age of 14, Tomek Miernowski already had nine years of playing the guitar behind his back. He had studied all sorts of music, and was already playing in restaurants and clubs around Madison, WI. He was already building a reputation as a young, yet experienced jazz guitarist, while also playing bass, piano, drums and everything in between. The only thing missing was a good songwriter.

And so Justin and Tomek met, hitting it off right away. Soon they started working together on their first collaborated songs "Pitchfork" and "Fairytale Meeting". They worked throughout their junior year in high school, and by that summer they had released their debut album - "This Boy". Relying solely on word-of-mouth, the CD was a hit within the immediate networks of the two musicians, selling hundreds of copies.

Though it would have been easy to sit back and be content with their first release, Justin and Tomek were already thinking about their sophomore album. After receiving high praise from such established producers as Greg Penny (k.d. lang, Elton John, Cher, Walter Becker of Steely Dan, etc.), the duo decided they had to do a followup. The only problem was, they were both leaving for college in two different states.

The apparent problem was solved by today's advances in technology - Justin would write and record piano and vocals for a song and email them to Tomek. Tomek would record other tracks, and the sharing went on. Their new album, "Myriads", is the result of this labor - not once throughout the recording process of the whole CD did Justin and Tomek actually see each other (although a lot of cell phone minutes were used...).

Already receiving positive reviews, Justin and Tomek plan to take this CD a lot further than "This Boy", and hopefully have this album be their one way ticket to eternal fame and stardom! (just kidding?)
