Julie Crochetiere is a unique sounding vocalist and songwriter from Montreal. Her sultry yet powerful voice carries you into her stories and emotions whether she sings acoustically with a guitar or with a full band. She accompanies herself on piano.

Julie recently came out with her debut independent EP after her adventure in the band Sugar Jones which was created on the reality television show Popstars in 2001.

The new EP is called «Café» and is a whole new introduction of the artist. While creating funky Rhythms all intertwined with soul and blues music, Julie delivers her lyrics with honesty and raw emotion.

Julie was inspired by Bill Withers, Carol King, Sting, Seal and many other artists while growing up. Julie has been inspired by the great songs they wrote and by the Soul in their performances.

Introducing Julie Crochetière

Canadian television audiences were first introduced to Julie as a contestant on the Popstars reality TV show. As one of the five young singers chosen by industry professionals to make-up the pop group “Sugar Jones”, Julie was widely acknowledged in the press as “the one to watch”.

Blessed with a big, soulful voice, it was her soaring vocals on “Days Like That” that transformed their single into a #1 hit across Canada.

Several tours, international exposure and a platinum album later, Julie’s career continues to build momentum. Since her debut EP “Café” has been launched, she has reached many Sugar Jones fans now grown older who are looking for more meaningful and mature music.

Inspired by authentic songwriters such as Bill Withers and Carol King, Julie’s mellow yet funky sound is suffused with Soul, French chansons and infusions of Jazz. Her songs are melodic, evocative and honest. Already established as a talented vocalist, she is continuing to make her mark as a true musician and songwriter.
