John Powers has recently completed recording a 15 song CD of original pop rock. The CD, produced by Jim Sampas includes an all star cast of musicians. The musicians who contributed their talents are Dave Mattacks, Kenwood Dennard and Billy Conway on drums, Duke Levine and David Brown on electric guitar, Dana Colley on saxophone and harmonica, and Tom West on piano and Hammond organ. Background vocalists include Robin Lane, Laurie Sargent, Barbara Kessler, Jimmy Ryan and David Herlihy. The CD was mixed by Fran Flannery, Brian Brown and Mike Deneen.
This year, John signed a music publishing contract with Heavy Hitters Music Publishing. His songs have appeared on the daytime soap operas All My Children and One Life to Live. John recently worked on the Beatles Tribute album From a Window: the Lost Songs of Lennon and McCartney featuring Graham Parker, Bill Janovitz and Kate Pierson as the album’s Beatles Historian.
