John Gahl is a singer songwriter who grew up in post-war Europe, immigrated to the U.S. in the late fifties, bought a mail-order guitar from Sears and Roebuck and began the musical chronicling of the American landscape. His lyrics are a vivid, almost photographic evocation of the everyday mysteries that play out in the streets, rooms, and hearts of ordinary people.
