A true southern artist, Joey Mayes grew up in Macon, GA, where he learned to play the home-grown blues that were predominant in the 70s. Never quite comfortable with the Southern Rock scene, he began exploring other musical voices. His style has become a melting-pot of folk, blues with a hint of R&B.
