Jennifer Kristin Carson

Music has always been a part of my life. I had a piano at home and was forced to practice at a very young age. High School was the highlight for performing in special audition groups, and musicals. It took many years to find my own style after all the choral singing I participated in. We were trained to blend with the person next to us and not to stick it out. I had the opportunity to record back up vocals for Jeff Reynold’s first worship album. I continued to sing, but became frustrated with being a twin, and my lack of flexibility as a musician. After several disappointments, I decided to transfer to Whitworth College in Spokane, WA While in Spokane, I picked up my little campfire guitar After a while I began to love the guitar. My friends at Whitworth heard someone up in the window playing guitar from the second story. I heard someone yell up, “Who’s the awful banjo player?” I stuck my head out the window with embarrassment knowing that I was the one that sounded so awful. I did not give up. After returning to Portland, I continued to practice and was asked again to record some backing vocals and percussion to Stone Dead Azaleas album. I spent three weeks traveling Japan in the fall of 1997. Then moved to Hawaii in 2000. I lead worship at New Hope Windward and performed in Waikiki. Currently I am one of the vocalists at FBCLE and perform with my band regularly in Frisco and Dallas. My website jkcmusic.com

I came out of the San Antonio music scene, back when hard rock and progressive folk were prevalent. I started playing guitar around ten and quickly surrounded myself with musicians. Even though we were southern boys, we were fascinated by the international styles coming through our town. I eventually found myself in North Texas and playing in a couple of bands (Only Human & Three Nails). By the end of 2004, I took a break during the Holidays. That was when I met Jennifer during a New Year’s performance.
Jennifer and I continued to perform around each other for another year. It wasn’t until the following Christmas, that she asked me to join her band. It was during this time that I met Curt Hayes, while collaborating with his band Thirty Three 3. Xy, who had performed with Jennifer in Hawaii, rejoined the band soon after.

Curt Hayes

At the age of eight, Curt picked up his first pair of drumsticks and hasn’t put them down since! Following in the footsteps of his grandfather and uncle who performed in a variety of national radio and television shows in the 1950’s, he played his first of many professional engagements at age 11. Growing up in Dallas and studying under jazz drummer Lee Appleman not only gave Curt a solid musical and technical background but also exposed him to a variety of musical styles.

Curt is best described as a focused and intense drummer who is driven by the music he plays. His involvement with the Jennifer Kristin Carson band is more than a creative outlet…it’s a passion.

Curt has been married for six years to his loving & supportive wife, Cheryl. They are the proud parents of an energetic Schnauzer named Sterling!

Xy Carson

I had met the girl of my dreams. Like most guys wanting to impress her I picked up the guitar for the first time. Before I knew what hit me were married and playing music together in our first studio (dirty old basement) in SE Portland. Busyness of life pulled me from what I believe I was made to do. This desire to play music continued to get the best of me. I became frustrated with being a back up bass player and drummer with my wife, only called upon to play in a pinch. Since moving to Dallas from the Islands, despite the demands of life we have made it a point, not an after thought, to go after our true dreams. To do what we know we were meant to do together with our short time on planet earth.
