«Anti-star», virtuoso guitarist, singer and motor of the Rackets, Jim paid his dues in the late 50’s and early 60’s in the U.S. bases in England und Hamburg’s Top Ten Club along with Tony Sheridan (Beatles), Klaus Voormann and Gibson Kemp.
As «Jimmy & The Rackets» he had top hits in the charts with # 1 «Skinny Minnie» and toured with the Beatles, Stones, Kinks and Who.
Jim established Powerplay Studios in Zurich, recording stars and sounds such as Europe’s «The Final Count Down», Trio’s «Da-Da-Da» and Chris De Burgh and many others. Jim received gold records engineering for Gianna Nannini and Udo Jürgens.
In the Nineties, after 3 years engineering at one of Switzerland leading Indie radio stations, he moved to Nashville, commuting to Europe to play country festivals with his band «SuperCountry».
Jeff Beck devoted half a page to Ian Duncan alias Jim Duncombe in his recent biography «Crazy Fingers».
