Bio and Influences:
Having started piano and guitars at a young age, Jay had music built within him with little effort needed for lessons or theory.
It's all about the ear and what your heart feels. To accomplish a piece others can also feel as you did writing it, is the true giving and sharing of musical gifts.
Jay toured after high school for about 7 years playing around clubs in Western Canada, backing up several well-known Canadian rockers like Trooper, Doug and the Slugs, Colin James, Long John Baldrey to name a few.
In the late 80's, Jay broke into Composition for Theatre and local Film with a Sterling Award for best Composition in a dark stageplay called "The Artificial Jungle".
