Artist Bio

James DeBorde was born in Lexington, Kentucky in late December of 1977. A piano and music teacher, his mother began casually instructing him in music from an early age. James eventually became interested in band instruments, and learned to play several including saxophone, french horn, mellophone, trumpet and alto bugle. In high school, James co-founded a Christian "a capella" quintet with several friends, and performed for several years in many, many churches across the southeast. It was during this time that James became interested in recording, engineering, songwriting, and music composition, which he majored in at Georgia Southern University from 1996-1998. In 1998, he decided to leave college to pursue music performance as a career, which he did with moderate success. In 2001, his mother unexpectedly passed away, and James was forced to reevaluate many of his priorities and life goals. Later that year, James met a young woman in West Virginia, fell in love, and eventually decided to settle down and return to school to finish a degree program. He is currently in his final semester at Bluefield State College in Bluefield, West Virginia, where he is majoring in Humanities with a specialization in Pre-Law. What does the future hold? Perhaps graduate school, perhaps not...but whatever doors God may open or close, James plans to keep music a large part of his life.
