The rumbling began about 9 years ago at the Hard Rock Café in Boston. An up and coming singer-songwriter from NY, Billy Patterson, was visiting a friend in Boston. His friend’s band happened to playing the Hard Rock that night. What turned out to be a typical “rock star” night out in the city unexpectedly impregnated the music industry with hendershodt.
As Billy recalls, “Bob Hayes was not the friend-of-a-friend I was there to see, but you couldn’t help but notice that the guy could play the guitar. I remember saying to my friend, ‘look at the guy playing lead – he looks like a peanuts character, but he rips!’ Basically, I moved to Boston, had my friend play bass, his friend (the drummer) and Bob left their band and…..Billy Patterson Band.” The band released an album and gigged heavily in NY and Boston before dissolving shortly after the millennium. But Billy and Bob continued to write and after a few years and couple of side projects hendershodt was inevitable.
