Grady Nickel is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist originally hailing from Augusta, GA. Growing up in close proximity to and going to school in Athens, GA had a profound effect on his musical output during his formative years. His music has been compared to Harvest-era Neil Young, early REM, and seminal alt-country band Uncle Tupelo. Since relocating to Nashville,Tennesse in 2007, Nickel has released an album of original material "Certified" which was produced by Nick Worley, who also happens to double as Nickel's guitarist. He also recruited Nashville based drummer and artist David Swanagin to play on the record and perform live. Since releasing Certified, Nickel has begun to perform live around Nashville at such venues as Windows On The Cumberland and The Basement.
His song subjects usually tackle broad themes like love, death, relationships, children, disappointment, serendipity, coincidence, and consequences.
