A biography

Bio

First Earth in its current form originated recently in October of 2000. In it's original form, it has been around for since early '97. Starting with Don Carlisle, Matt Svacha and David Warren as Desiccated, the band's style progressed to heavy metal with influences from Sepultura and Metallica. After about a period of one year, rhythm guitarist Dean Buggia joined to create a heavier atmosphere. John Herreshoff was added shortly after as a replacement for David Warren, who left the band for personal reasons. In the summer of '99, Anthony Lee was added to give a more industrial, thicker sound. In late August of 2000, DJ Fred Pomeroy was inducted as it's final addition to the sound that First Earth has achieved. Then in October, bassist Matt "Manchild" Svacha left the band due to personal conflicts. Bassist Rob Bastek came to re-invent the heavy sounds First Earth produces.
First Earth's sound blends everything. It cannot be categorized. It takes metal, melts it with the timing of jazz, the thickness of industrial, the quickness of fusion, and even contains tints of ambience and dissonance.
Influences range from Stevie Ray Vaughn, to Slipknot, to Nine Inch Nails, to Buddy Rich, to Tool.
First Earth takes the aggression produced by hatred for and from others, and incorporates it into a violent sound of quietness. Such tracks as "Nothing" and "A Life in Vain" are compromised of our distaste for people who deny who they are. "Downfall" elude
