I came to writing music later in life after recurring dreams in which I would hear suggestions of both melody and/or lyrics, very briefly and would often wake at that point. I got into the habit of keeping a voice recorder by my bed so I didn't miss anything. I would find myself warbling music and sometimes words into my recorder at some ungodly hour in the morning and when time permitted I would work on the song. Most times I would get a feeling of what the song was supposed to be about. I have written some songs about experiences I have never had and yet I felt they had to be written. I only write when inspired and nearly all my songs tell a story or express my personal views on a subject. I don't sing so have had demo's done of my songs and am pleased with the results. I used the Pop/Easy listening genre but have written Country, R&B, Christian and Latin rhythms. I just love music.

I entered 11 songs in UKSC and was happy to get 4 semi final placings and scores of 6 for all the others. These are my first serious attempts at song writing so I am encouraged by the results.
