Elizabeth South's Bio
Elizabeth South is a world class singer, songwriter, and performer. She pours her heart into her songwriting and singing. Her music is both healing and uplifting. Her voice has been described as beautiful, soothing, and angelic. Elizabeth has been a performer on stage most of her life and has attended prominent schools such as NYU for musical theater and Tisch School of the arts. She also received a degree in Music Therapy and a Masters of Art in Teaching from UNC-Chapel Hill.
Elizabeth is in the midst of recording a new album, which will be released in the Spring of 2010.
The first single, "Falling in Love Alone," will be available on iTunes in the Fall of 2009.
She recently recorded this new album in Nashville with producer Billy Smiley (founder of the rock group White Heart and producer for Steven Curtis Chapman, Newsboys) and recorded with some of the finest musicians in the world such as Blair Masters - keyboards (Casting Crowns, Mercy Me, Michael English's "Mary Did You Know"), Dennis Holt - drums (Taylor Swift, etc.), Matt Pearson - bass (Michael W. Smith, Natalie Grant), Scott Dente - acoustic guitar and Christine Dente - vocals (Out of the Grey), Rick Florian - vocals (lead singer of White Heart for various hit songs such as "Desert Rose"), John Catchings - cello (Phil Keaggy, Michael Card), George Cocchini - Electric Guitar (DC Talk), Gordon Kennedy - sitar (White Heart & co-writer "Change the World" for Eric Clapton), Brennan Smiley - electric guitars (Charity Von, Diane di Stasio), Greg Hagan - electric guitars (Little Big Town, Katinas), Terry White (vocals), Billy Smiley - acoustic guitar and vocals, Billy Whittington - mixing engineer (Vanessa Williams, Amy Grant, and Faith Hill).
