Descanso is a rock and roll band comprised of Dustin Boyer(Gtr. lead vox), Trevor Boyer(Drums) and Casey Butler(Bass) conceived in the summer of 2000. They floated northbound from El Cajon, CA to Cal Arts and the L.A. clubs where they tenaciously tapped the bloated oak barrel. Their first gig was at the Mint in West Los Angeles. They furthermore played the Viper Room, The Whisky A GO-GO, The Troubadour and more followed by residencies at the Derby in Los Feliz, CA where they reside currently. In the Summer of 2001 Descanso toured cross country with the B-52's and the Go-Gos.As their following developed, The band has garnered recognition from the Independent Music Awards for Best Regional Artist. In 2002, Descanso's debut album was released on their own record label called Soop Records recorded by Scott Gordon (Alanis Morisette, Aerosmith, Ringo Starr ,etc.) Descanso received airplay on 94.9 FM, 91XFM (both in San Diego) and on 89.9 KCRW (Weekend Becomes Eclectic). They continued to solidify their momentous sound by playing weekly shows at the Derby (LosFeliz, CA.) until they gave birth to their latest album, 'Ugly on the Inside' (Soop Records)recorded live in February 2004. The album was tracked in two days by Travis Dickerson (X, Bucket Head, John Doe etc.) and then mixed/produced with added overdubs by the entire band. Influential styles include Experimental, Noise, Delta Blues and Gunslinger Ballads.
