Denielle Bassels is an international chanteuse and exciting new Toronto-based vocalist, songwriter and bandleader.

Denielle's voice has been compared to 'Julie London meets Amy Winehouse', Adele and Ella Fitzgerald and her music to indie bands like Koop, Nouvelle Vague, and Lana Del Ray, yet the sound remains her own; romantic and unique with a touch of sass. Her original songs whimsically weave through borders of jazz, blues and folk in a way that is fresh and exciting.

Bassels won Grand Prize in the John Lennon Song Competition in the jazz category totalling over 8000$ in prizes.  After receiving grants from the Toronto Arts Council and Canada Council of The Arts, Denielle was able to fund her first full length album "What About Wool WIshbags", a whimsical volume of original work spanning genres of swing, indie, folk and blues that Kris Kadwell of Canoe FM calls "unique and refreshing".

Sounds Like: Amy Winehouse, Adele
