David Massey writes and sings in the tradition of John Prine, Steve Forbert, Todd Snider, and other "Americana" singer/songrwriters. His debut CD, "Blissful State of Blue," was released on June 25, 2004, and is available at http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/dmassey. The record was produced by multi-instrumentalist Zan McLeod (who has played and recorded with Paul Winter, David Wilcox, Mike Cross and the Chieftans), and features vocalist Dudley Connell of the current Seldom Scene, dobroist Mike Auldridge of the original Seldom Scene, drummers Robbie Magruder (Mary Chapin Carpenter) and Jack O'Dell of Bill Kirchen's band, Stephen Wade of "Banjo Dancing" fame, and Jim Robeson and Bill Starks of The Cathy Ponton King band. Emily and Susan Hsu (of the Washington D.C. inide-pop jam band ExitClov) lend their voices to several tracks as well. David has assembled a band to support the record and is playing in the Washington D.C. area.
