Hi Ray, I just want to compliment you again on your song "Every Time That I'm With You." It is a brilliant catchy song and if I may say should be a standard in the American Songbook. The melody and lyrics are really great. I was also wondering if you record other songwriters' songs. I have a jazz/lounge song that I would like to record (I am not a singer) sometime in the next few months. If this is something of interest to you, please let me know what this would cost. Thanks again so much. Glad you liked my song. I stopped recording about 4 years ago and I am 77 years old, but I still entertain for good money every day at nursing homes, and can still sing or I wouldn't be hired so much. LOL. I recorded and sang my song 7 years ago in Nashville live with a band. It was really fun. But thanks for asking, and good luck with your song. If I can hear it please send it to me in MP3? I used to live in New Hyde Park and Valley Stream. I've been living in Westchester for about 15 years now. I moved here as I was running the music business program at Manhattanville College. Sounds good Harvey. I look forward to hearing back from you. I checked your website and you are a very successful author of books and had Bobby Rydell endorse you as well. Very impressive. I have been on indie charts in the USA with 2 #1 songs (The Music Review) and over 100 times as an artist and maybe 10 times with songs in the Top 10 Worldwide Charts for indie and major artists since 2005, but my dream to have one song cut by a major artist/label has never come true. If you have a music contact with a major label willing to cut my song (or any song) you can have the publishing? :-) Be well, Ray
I'm chuckling that you wrote "you can have my publishing." First, as a fellow-songwriter who knows the struggle to get songs cut by major artists I wouldn't take it, it's yours and you deserve it (aside from the fact that it's not in my ethics); and second, because I would say the same thing to get any of my songs recorded by a major artist! Ha ha. It's great that you have had some of your songs on various charts. That's more than most songwriters accomplish. On a separate note, it was a great honor for me to get an endorsement from Bobby Rydell. I've always been a big fan of his, not to mention that I'm from Philadelphia also. I write 50s vintage pop and it would have been a dream just to present an original song to Bobby Rydell but he left us too suddenly. Anyway, let's stay in touch; you never know how each of us may be able to help the other. Best, Harvey
