Hey David, just casually listening to "Out On The Road" again today allowed me to better absorb the lyric content and gotta say to you... it's truly a piece of work. And listened to several other tunes of yours. Man your stuff is raw and edgy and somehow delicate and complex all at once, but this one... ya man, whatever the direction, you got it tuned up right on this one. I love the song man. Best wishes. Peace.

wow, what an interesting review of my tune 'hey, there's an angel in my funk'. and to cap it with the following statement: 'the masses are more accepting of non-traditional melodic and tonal mixtures and less so with beats.'
this seems an unusually optimistic view of the intellectual level of today's listener.
from this 60 yr old view, today's music is very much about beats . but i do very much agree w/ you the permutations of the usable scale choices in popular music has pretty much been used up...and we're down to finding original ways of using sounds.
in any case weldome to bj,

sankey, I absolutely agree with your view on today's music about beats. To perhaps clarify a bit more, I guess I was referring to meters such as 5/4, 7/4 and the likes as well as the practice of throwing in the occasional 5/4, etc. measure. my reasoning (at that moment) was that would ultimately detract from the tunes danceablity.

Hi Nativeson, Thank you very much for your in depth review of my song "Far Away". Those are the kind of reviews I love. I'll be sending copies of your review on to my co-writers.

And I can assure you that you aren't going to find a lot of Pink Floyd influence on my writing :) I had to chuckle when I read that part.

I find your music very interesting. Not the usual fare.

You're welcome. I really should create another account for the loop based stuff I'm doing now. Thanks for the comment.
