Thanks a lot for the review and the details, indeed it could be long listening to an 8 minute song like mine! I get a lot of comments regarding the sound quality of my song and I am quite aware of it, since I'm not actually recording but simply using the Sibelius sounds that are offered to me when I compose. Either way it was very constructive, thanks again for your time!

thanks for not taking my review too harshly! I just listened to the song again, Standstill, and I must have been a bit impatient since I had probably been reviewing for too long... but just wanted to say, your song deserved more than I gave it! At least 20/25 actually, the whole jazz feel is there, it's serene and for me it does for good background music for dinner, nicely done! (The way I reviewed was almost as if I was watching it in a show or something, but I have to stop comparing that way) Only thing on the mastering : I feel as though the microphone is too far from the voice. Either way, keep it up!

Thanks Kevin, that's very helpful. Sorry for the delay in responding. Intrigued about the microphone distance issue - I'm usually only about a centimetre away, which I'm told is too close. It must be the balance that's wrong. I'll look into it on my next mix.

Hi Kevin!
Thanks for your review of Standstill. Just as you don't often listen to Jazz, I don't listen often to Prog Rock - but I'm listening to Breakthrough now. Good guitar riffs!
Actually Jazz is as new a beast to me as it is to you. So Standstill is somewhat of a diversion from my normal route. I'll have a think how to relieve the monotony!
