Please vote for my partner, Ken Mathiesen's and my song, "Light Me Up Inside" at this link: http://countrystampede.com/lineup/nsai-songwriters-tent/2013-songwriters-contest.html 1 Thank you!
Hello Broadjam Family!! I'm here asking for your vote. My co-writer/friend, Ken Matthiesen and I wrote a song entitled "Light Me Up Inside". At this website:
Ken and I have entered our song in the Country Stamped Song Contest (see above link) and if our song is chosen, we will have the honor to have our song "Light Me Up Inside" performed as a back up to one of the famous country stars that's lined up for this event. Some of the country stars, just to name a few, who will headline this event features Jake Owen, Jason Aldean, Scotty McCreery and Trace Adkins, just to name a few. So, if you guys could PLEASE do Ken and I a favor and go to this link to vote, we would GREATLY APPRECIATE your vote!!!!! You can vote up to 100 times, not that I'm asking you to do that as we would appreciate any vote we receive, and daily, I believe. However, of course, because it's our song, I will be the crazy fool voting up to 100 times. Thanks again Facebook Family and God Bless!!
THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH Antho for voting!!!!
Just reviewed the produced version of Inspiration! Enjoyed it!
5* as well!! Best-Mike
Thank you Mike and I'm sorry it's taken so long to say this but I have not used Broadjam very much for over a year!! Thank you again for your kind comments!
Cherri, thanks for reviewing my song "all wrapped in a daughter". Much appreciated. Light me up inside is a great song!
You're welcome Matthew and thank you for your kind comment on my song "Light Me Up Inside"!
Inspiration- 5 stars! Well done!!!! Enjoyed listening to the guitar/vocal demo version!!! Best- Mike
Thank you Mike from the bottom of my heart for your kind comment!! Sorry it's taken so long to send this thank you!
Ken, beautiful song Light Me Up Inside! We did it! A star is born.
hey cherri....we had a nibble on 'light me up inside'....kenny roger's publisher listened to it a couple times and has looked up my profile here on broadjam. fingers crossed!
Ken, by the way, I just got back yesterdaY in the mail the copyright paper on it; I'll scan it in and e-mail it to you.
razzle in my dazzle--yeeeeeeeeeeee haw!!!! i love it--great tune--i gave it 5 stars--grerat up-tempo---fun song--great one to do live anywhere--you might get a hit out of this somehow--cheers--joe.
Ah, thanks Nashville Joe!! I'll pass this along to my partner Ken who cowrote the song!!
Ken, I LOVE all your lyrics as you mirror me! You are an expression of my soul. Thanks to you, I found Jason Wyatt, and his studio, to me, rather expensive, drives ANY song to the planks of professional recordings and production! This song needs that studio as it's THat GOOD!!
Sometimes you have to have a song at it's best, not only lyrically but at it's peak performance production-wise. This song is a number one hit ... I listened to it and I could feel the words and the singer's emotions, I just couldn't not hear the "full blown professionalism" as I do like at Jason Wyatt's studio. It's not the lyrics or the singer, but the production that needs to happen to bring this song out of the hiding.
Ken, I LOVE the melody and lyrics...they reallly hit home. I just think that you need a bigger production sound to bring this song to life! I know if you get a publisher it will be, but wow, what wonderful lyrics!

Yes, I realized that what I clicked on for country was classical so you can imagine how confued I was and you must be. I realized this AFTER I did my evaluation.
Hey, thanks for the kind review of my tune, "The Last Riders On Route 66". Back in 2002, it won the Grand Prize in The International Route 66 Theme Song Contest. It is currently in the Top Ten in The Country-Alternative charts.
I'll be honest, I did record it on my kitchen with my MacBook Pro. I had to unplug the frig to drown out the subtle humming it was emitting. I sang all the parts and played all the instruments. The song comes from my CD, "Modern Progress".
My audiences love the song when I play live.
I'm gonna check out your work.
Best of luck!

Hi Cherri! Thank you for your positive review of my instrumental, "Loco Joey". I appreciate your time, and I will check out your tunes soon! Joe
I just heard Something Left to Say and it almost made me cry after you and I spoke on the phone last night and I know the real truthful story behind the song's storyline. And our boy, Jason, once again brings the song to life!!! Thanks so much Ken, again, for sharing with me. I'm SO ready for you and I to begin writing GREAT songs together because I DO think your lyrics are SO touching and beautiful!! I think you and I will be able to come up with some more great songs to your already extremely impressive list! School is about to come to an end and I'm going to give what I was giving in school (which was 110 percent) to my music for the next several months! Again, it was so wonderful to talk to you last night Ken and I look forward to you and I working together and am looking forward to receiving those piano melodies.
yal, jason just nailed the vocals.....i have a copy in the mail to dad...i sent the lyrics to him earlier...his comment was 'they're kinda mushy' men are so terrible at emotion...it's such a release for me to write my feelings
Ken, I'm so happy to hear that you sent that song to your Dad! And you're correct, writing is SO therapeutic!! It gives you a place to store your emotions and feelings and go back and look at it later.
Thanks for uploading the song we discussed, Head Over Heels, I LOVED IT!!!!!! And yes, it's by Jason who is performing it. I'm SO excited to pick my one set of lyrics to send off to him today ... especially in light of hearing this song!
i can't wait to hear the progress of your song...keep me posted.....
I will keep you posted and thanks for keeping me in the loop on Razzle!
I liked your 3 songs so much I posted them to my FaceBook page.
thank you....i'll go on facebook and find you and make you a friend....
You're welcome Ken! Yes, I got your Facebook request this a.m. when I went on line and checked my e-mail and have accepted you, thanks for asking for my request. Hope to talk to you soon!
several months ago you reviewed my song called "Climb" and suggested the instrumentation could have been more well-executed. I took that advice, and would love your thoughts on the new version w/piano (when/if you have time). Thank you kindly.
Hi Sun Voyage, I will give it a listen and see what it sounds like now and thanks by the way for taking my advice and I hope it was good and positive! I need to go back and re-read what I said. Just remember, that's ONLY my opinion; Art is in the eye of the beholder.
If I didn't hear it too, I wouldn't have done it. Quicy Jones told Michael Jackson that "Billy Jean" shouldn't have been on Thriller b/c he didn't think it was a hit. A good artist knows when to listen to what someone says, and when not to. This was a case where I felt I should listen.
Hi Sun Voyage,
I LOVED IT THIS TIME ... I'd have had to heard it the way it was before to compare but all I know is this time it REALLY MOVED me!! Great job and keep up the good work. I liked it so much I've posted it on my FaceBook page and add it to my playlist!
Not only did I love your song but after looking at your picture, you are a very handsome man which matches your beautiful vocals!!
One last thing ... are you playing the piano or any of the instruments in your song Climb? Is it your vocals?
Thank you for each kind comment. I really appreciate it. I do everything in my music (drums, guitar, singing, piano, production, mastering, etc). The only place I need a lot of work on is my piano playing. I'm not a very good piano player, so I had to edit the piano where the performance didn't match what was in my head, but it works in the end. Thanks again for the kind words, and ur time.
You're so welcome Sun Voyage and I'm the same with my piano; I'm beginning lessons; I can't play worth a crap. My best of luck to you in all your endeavors!

hi cherri...i sent an e-mail the other day...did you get it? i know you're swamped...this is just a follow up cause sometimes you just never know where these things go once you push the send key...
I received it and wrote back; I just forgot to hit send on the e-mail. Let's talk on the phone about details. 831-455-6052. I'll send the e-mail.
Got a chance to check out your latest production "Midnight Confessions" i must say you have a very original sound to your track and a great vocal keep em coming.
Thanks soooooo much Drumschool ... and if I've not gotten back to you to thank you for such a kind word, I'm terribly sorry ... I've been SO busy with school that even music has taken a back seat!!!!
hi again cherri....i love what you did with midnight confession.......best wishes with all your music.....
write on/rock on!
Thanks KenM!!! Sorry it's taken so long to get back with you but I've been studying!! Best wishes to you too with your music!
no problem, and thanks...study hard and study smart...sometimes it's not what you learn but how you learn....did you get an e-mail i sent? i think i sent it thru broadjam....do you have a little mailbox button in the upper right corner? i'll just try to paste it here in this comment...see what happens...
hey again....i wanted to say again i really enjoy the midnight confessions....i appreciate you trying for that 'special' sound and i think you have something special. my name is ken matthiesen and i live in the middle of kansas. i've been writing songs for 20 some years. personally i'm all over the board with my music, but i mainly write lyrics, so i guess that's a good thing. i have oodles of lyrics and i think a couple might be up your alley if you would be interested in seeing some. regardless of style my main love is getting people to dance to something ....slow, fast, whatever gets 'em moving...as long as its fun and not trashy....let me know..thanks and best wishes...
write on/rock on!
Sorry, Bob passed in 2009!
Thank You bunches for your stellar review of our song "How Do I Say Goodbye"......
Very interesting comments!
Kristin's voice has been associated with an Angelic voice on numerous occasions!
Several psychics have stated her voice was a direct gift from Angels!
The song is actually a true story of prayer for Kristin's late Dad Bob......Kristin and I
kept him alive for 5 additional quality years after the doctors said he was only a couple of days away from dying....he finally succumbed in 2008.....
I originally intended this song as a jazz composition, but my jazz colleagues snubbed it, so we changed it to a country production believing that the story resembles a story that would be accepted in that world!
Thanks again for your good karma....and btw we are local LA folks!
You're welcome and sorry so late getting back to you.!
No probs....once again, based in LA and ready, willing and able to assist, collaborate, etc!
Only at the end did I sing along on the na nas. So yes, I did have two other people doing background vocals.
"there i go again" is just beautiful! this is a good niche for you! i love it..
Aww, thanks Chaz for your kind words!! After Midnight, it is SO welcomed!! You don't know how good your comment makes me feel ... I'm starting on 10 songs (of my own) this month. I can't wait! Do you have any new ones your working on?
Chaz, now this time I'm really asking for your opinion. I'm in the process of taking There I Go Again back to the studio to make it better. If you could think of ways to make it better, please advise. Like, do you think the song should be longer? More instruments? Your advice would be greatly appreciated as I value your opinion because I know how great your songwriting is.
Alyssa, whoever put your profile together couldn't have been more "right on"! You and your fellow rock mates rock! Excellent vocals, harmonies ... well, short of just not liking rock which I LOVE rock, I couldn't find one thing not perfect with your song!! You guys get an "A" in every department that you critique a song in! Sound like you and your group are ready to graduate from Broadjam onto a record label as a professional group! Yes, I was that impressed!
Thank you so much for you kind words. I go out to LA in January to record a few more songs and I will put them up when I get them done and mixed.
I'm 5 hours away in Monterey! Be careful on your trip and good luck! I look forward to hearing your new songs on Broadjam.
Although I'm not a heavy-metal type of chick I think Dead Weight sounded really great and professionally done!
After hearing After Dark, I feel that it has great potential for becoming a hit in the heavy metal world. It does sound "dark"; true to it's name.
Thank you! Check out www.anannuki.com for more tracks.
Oh and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! :)
You're welcome and I hope your holidays were great!
