When Christy first broke onto the scene in 2001, it wasn't with her music at all, but as lead singer of PowerHouse, a local start-up rock band covering Melissa Etheridge, Garbage and Gwen Stefani. It was on these stages - including several biker bars and clubs on Marine bases at Miramar and Camp Pendleton - that her musical education really began.

After 2 years and several lineup changes, the Christy Wilson Band was formed. Using songs that Christy had written and including re-makes of classics by the Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, Tom Petty, and Sheryl Crow, the band found its voice on stage and in the studio.

The long-awaited "GET READY" was released independently in June 2004. With guitar-driven, straight-ahead rock, piano grooves and energetic acoustic rock rhythms, this first collection has received rave reviews so far.

Christy was recently selected to showcase at the Durango Songwriter's Expos in Santa Barbara, CA and Durango, CO in June and October 2005.
