Chris Shaffer is back, front and center with his first solo album, simply titled "Chris Shaffer." Chris is an electrifying performer and is known as one of the most popular singers to come out of the Midwest in the last ten years. He is an emotional songwriter and storyteller with a deep soulful voice that invokes comparisons to Cat Stevens, Jim Croce, and Lou Rawls.
After ten years and six CD's with The Why Store, and two underrated gems with Shaffer Street he has forged ahead on his own. With an unforgettable voice and commanding stage presence, he is ready to pursue his solo career. With The Why Store's Universal/MCA releases, Chris wrote such radio hits as "Lack of Water," "Father," and "Surround Me." "Lack of Water," the band's national break-out song in 1996, was featured on the band's self-titled, major label debut. The song catapulted the band's status by giving them a Top 20 album for the year at Triple-A radio, and a number one single at Triple-A radio.
