Cactipus met for the first time in May, 2006. Scott, K.T. and Kay-ta spent grueling hours towards the end of May in a rehearsal studio in San Pedro, CA writing and getting to know each other. A couple of days later their manager sent them to DinosM4 Recording Studio in Torrance to record their first set of songs. What they were able to put together in those few short days is nothing short of amazing. Their music is unique, innovative, high energy, and sure to have you begging for more.

Welcome

Band members:

Scott Beguin - drummer extrodinaire who will absolutely knock your socks off. Scott has been hiding out in the mountains of New Mexico up until recently, so you don't know who he is. But we have already warned him that now that he has come out of hiding, he is going to have to get used to a lot of attention!

K.T. - bass; absolutely amazing bassist who makes our music come to life. K.T. has been a bassist/vocalist for 30 years. He is currently working with smooth jazz artists Paul Taylor, Steve Oliver, and Eric Marienthol. He has also had the privilege of working with Staples Singers, Maceo Parker, Eric Darius, Michael Paulo, Ray Fuller, Dave Koz, John Blackwell (Prince), Chaka Khan, Kenny Loggins, Everett Harp, Hartry Connick Jr., Roy Ayers, Fats Domino, and many others.

Kay-ta Matsuno - guitarist; you just have to see him to believe it. Kayta is a virtuoso of the guitar. After he graduated from Berkelly College of Music in Boston, he moved to Los Angeles. The broad capacity of his playing style (From Gospel, R&B through country, Jazz to Rock) helped him to start his career as a session guitarist. His list of credits includes Marlena Shaw, Steve Porcaro, Virgil Donatti, Tony Macalpine, Myra (ex Disney Record) Mauli. B, Lisa (Avex trax) NOVO philharmonic orchestra. Kay-ta's talent and creativity bring it all together to make Cactipus one of the most exciting bands of the decade.
