About Berg...

A poetic singer-songwriter, Berg has a talent for engaging audiences with his captivating melody and heartfelt lyrics. A native of Gainesville, Florida, Berg blends acoustic, folk, alternative, pop and rock in his very own recipe for enchanting songs. The artist certainly doesn’t downplay his pop sensibilities in the delivery of each and every song, displaying that his melodic hooks can appeal to all listeners.

Coming off recording his new EP, Believing & Being, in his “second home” of Atlanta, Georgia, Berg is eager to get back out on the road to promote this record. Believing & Being was recorded at Electron Gardens Studios and co-produced by studio owners Gary Pfaff & Tim Delaney. Says Berg of the recording process: “It never ceases to amaze me how surreal this experience has been recording these songs, because I feel like I've been reliving each one as we worked on them. These are some of the most personal songs I've ever written, and I feel like we've captured the essence and emotion of each one.” Three songs on the EP (“Still Here Waiting”, “Bittersweet”, “Raining in Atlanta”) appear in the new independent film Screw Cupid (written and directed by Sanjeev Sirpal; starring Mircea Monroe of the FOX-TV series "Drive").

After performing more than 170 shows the past two years, Berg sets out to continue this steadfast touring in 2007. Not only will Berg be playing shows in California to coincide with the release of the film, but he will also be raking his way through the Southeast in support of the new EP.

Berg began his musical journey in 1992 in his hometown by organizing the inaugural St. Francis House Benefit Concert to aide a local homeless shelter. From there, he fronted a couple of local bands before branching out on his own to allow the free development of his own creative mind. After establishing himself in the Gainesville music scene, Berg began to launch his music outside of that pocket as well, showcasing at such events as the prestigious Atlantis Music Conference. Berg has shared the stage with numerous recognizable regional acts, as well as national acts such as Shawn Mullins, Stroke 9, Brian Vander Ark, Five Star Iris and Big 10-4.

With a new EP under his belt, a passion for live-performance, and three songs featured in an upcoming film, Berg is excited about hitting the road to share his music with the world. Berg kicked off 2007 touring the Southeastern United States, winning over even more fans to join the loyal and impassioned grassroots following that drive him. This summer, he ventured to the West Coast for a tour that eventually found its way to Los Angeles for a performance in conjunction with promotions for the film whose soundtrack features three songs from Believing & Being. With momentum in tow, new and long-standing fans alike will find themselves rooting for this rising, down-to-earth singer-songwriter.
