Band Called Pharisee offers an exoteric mix of hypnotic rock guitar riffs flavored with tasteful piano accents all set within a backdrop of vivid beats and lyrics that capture the imagination. One could imagine a layered blend of Black Crowes, Kravitz, Zeppelin and Santana.

In the brief time this group has been together, they've managed to distinguish themselves in the Chicago music scene, playing regularly at top venues such as Beat Kitchen, Elbo Room, and the Double Door. In September 2003, chosen from a pool of over 165 bands, Band Called Pharisee won the Paramount Pictures School of Rock, Battle of the Bands Competition, earning them a performance on the local CBS Morning Show, and a grand prize of $1000.00.

Most recently, the band was a Chicago Finalist in the Emergenza Live Music Festival that took place at the Metro in Chicago on June 5, 2004.
