Southern-born Ashland Miller puts a pen to paper, an acoustic guitar on her knee, and a passionate voice unleashes songs that make you laugh, cry, feel inspired, and ultimately wanting more. Southern-bred Ashland Miller first began studying piano as a child under the tutelage of her mother. She then went on to study guitar at Appalachian State University, which yielded the formation of the acclaimed acoustic duo 'CommonbonD.'
Ashland toured with CommonbonD for ten years, packing venues and pleasing audiences with her signature smooth slide guitar and equally engaging soulful voice. The duo released six full length CD's, was nominated for Best Contemporary Folk Group and Best Contemporay Folk Recording, and shared the stage with Terri Clark, Kyler England, Lucy Kaplansky, Sophie B. Hawkins, Jill Sobule, eddie from ohio, Catie Curtis, David Wilcox, and Melissa Ferrick.
Moving into the next phase of her already successful career, Ashland now concentrates on songwriting, producing and artist development as Managing Partner of the independent studio/production company,
