Really, really cool song!! Love the old club jazz vibe! The singer has tons of personality, and a really natural, comfortable style that fits this song so well. THere are some wonderful lyrics. I love this type of writing....crafty, clever.....just right! Great job!

Lyrics
GONE BABY GONE
(STEVE DAFOE 2009)
COPYRIGHTED)
VERSE 1:
YOU WERE ONCE THE BEST THING
BUT NOTHING LASTS FOREVER, DOES IT?
NEVER THOUGHT THIS LOVE WOULD QUIT
BUT I GUESSED THAT YOU GOTTA KNOW
THAT IT'S TRUE , SO STARTS THE SORROW
YEAH GIRL IT'S TIME I'D BETTER GO, just go
CHORUS:
SO TAKE A GOOD LOOK AT ME BABY BABY
BECAUSE I'M REALLY DONE BABY JUST DONE
TAKE A LAST LOOK AT ME , CAN'T YOU SEE?
'CAUSE I'M GOING BABY, YEAH BABY
We really tried and tried to be satisfied
Until we have nothing left to give
So if spring is renewal, then fall is the loss
And that is the season of our love
THERE'LL BE LOVE AGAIN FOR YOU AND ME
SPRINGING UP WITHIN LIKE A FLOWER
MAYBE I'LL LOOK BACK A LITTLE WISER
BUT TODAY, THERE'S "JUST SOUR NO SWEET"
YEAH, NO SUGAR JUST SOME SOUR DEFEAT
SO TAKE A GOOD LOOK AT ME BABY BABY
BECAUSE I'M REALLY DONE BABY JUST DONE
TAKE A LAST LOOK AT ME , CAN'T YOU SEE?
'CAUSE I'M GOING BABY, YEAH BABY
YOU WERE ONCE THE BEST THING
I'M GOING BABY, YEAH BABY
