I studied acting at the University of California in Sacramento and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City. With moving back to New York City some years ago, I felt inspired to compose my first ballad Let Yesterday Be Gone.

I was working as a temp at Arista Records in New York years ago while composing I've Got To Make A Love Call. I had the pleasure of stepping into Mr. Clive Davis' office to lay documents on his desk on one or two occasions.

Dance and jazz music became strong influences in my life - while living in cities such as New York, San Francisco, Sacramento, Los Angeles - an upbeat melody is what I carried feeling inspiration in writing songs such as When Opportunity Knocks, I've Got To Make A Love Call and Love Lifted Me.

Biography

Pisces. Born in Detroit. I grew up with a natural love for gospel, soul, jazz, folk, rock & roll, Motown, Aretha Franklin, Diana Ross, Smokey Robinson, Stevie Wonder and other artists like Bob Dylan, Paul Simon and The Rolling Stones.

I was baptized at a young age by the late Rev. A. Paul Jones at New Hope Baptist Church in Sacramento where my mother was a choir member. I sang in the Children's Choir and joined the youth choir when I was about fifteen years old and later given an award of appreciation for my dedication as a member. I also took on co-directing the Young Adult Choir as a teenager, assisting the pastor's wife, a very talented pianist, director and songstress, Mrs. Anne Marie Jones, for a season.

I studied acting at the Entertainer's Studio in Fair Oaks after high school. Then a semester of drama at the University of California Sacramento. A couple of years later, I studied full time in New York City at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts.

I became a professional word processor with returning to San Francisco a couple of years later and began working for major corporations such Levi Strauss & Company. Writing my first published poem was a reflection of my love for horses, "Horses of the Wild".

A few years later, with returning to live and work in New York City, I was inspired to write my first ballad "Let Yesterday Be Gone". With being heavily influenced by dance and house music over the years while living in cities like Sacramento, San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York, "When Opportunity Knocks" was inspired while living in New York City with spending some of my time between work assignments as a word processor. "I've Got To Make A Love Call" is what I was feeling many occasions when it came to spending special time on the phone special people in my life such and especially my beautiful mother who was living in California.

Singing "Love Lifted Me" is not a new expression for me with having been one singing hymnals growing up in the church. My new composition in words and melody moves to an upbeat but is spiritually inspired with feeling and knowing love in the season of spring time too.

Thank Heaven for the computer. It has helped me to do so much worthwhile composing!
