*RECORDING ARTIST ADDS HER SPECIAL TOUCH TO CLUB FIT'S DANCE PROGRAMMING

Briarcliff Manor, NY,....Club Fit's Dance 'N Funk class is one of the most popular Group Exercise programs at both the Briarcliff and Jefferson Valley locations, and one of its participants has taken her involvement a step further. Performer Annie Hecht recently collaborated with Club Fit Jefferson Valley Group Exercise Director Syd Berman to incorporate one of her new recordings, "I Believe," into the class routine. The song, a collaboration between Annie, Grammy-nominated and multiplatinum-selling producer David Grow, and her husband, composer and keyboardist Stuart Hecht, is slated to be the centerpiece of her next album.

The"Dance 'N Funk" Choreography Contest at Club Fit Jefferson Valley was treated to a live performance (SEE ATTACHED PHOTOS) by Annie, a Pocantico Hills resident and member of Club Fit, who feels the song is a natural fit with the class. Dance 'N Funk is an hour-long mix of progressive choreographed routines influenced by Broadway, Jazz, Hip Hop and Funk. "'I Believe' is a beautifully choreographed dance," she says. "Like a butterfly or blossom unfolding, the powerful movements incorporate dance, yoga, pilates, and a runner's stretch." Annie also is excited that her work is being used in a venue that supports a good, healthy balance in life. For Annie, who has a degree in psychology and has been athletic her whole life, it's a dream come true to have one of her songs choreographed for a group of people who are striving to maintain a healthy balance between body, mind and spirit.

Annie originally planned to pursue a career in medicine, and earned her psychology degree at Boston University. She shifted gears when she met her husband through an ad in the Village Voice, which Stuart had placed looking for a singer. Her audition resulted in a long-term professional relationship that turned into much more. Annie decided to pursue music as a career and earned her master's degree in Opera and Performance at New York University. She and Stuart have spent many years making beautiful music together, first in the East Village of New York City, and continued their work after moving up to Westchester County . The husband and wife team has performed in a wide variety of venues, including clubs and cafes in Manhattan, and at various outdoor festivals in locations including Wave Hill, Rhinebeck, Sugarloaf and Central Park. Their most successful work so far has been their album "Sweet Destiny," which came out in 2005 and was featured on a number of national and local radio stations, including WHUD-FM's New Artist Spotlight.

WHUD 100.7 INTERVIEW 3/16/08

WHUD INTERVIEW with CATHERINE MICHAELS--DEBUT OF "MY NUMBER ONE"--first song recorded for their new CD 2009 "FLY BUTTERFLY"

C. So, do you live here in the Hudson Valley?
A. Yes, we moved up here from New York City.
C. Is that where you're from originally?
A. I grew up near the city in Livingston, NJ, a beautiful little town.
C. Your time in the city I imagine was a great sort of inspiration for your songwriting and creativity.
A. Yes, I think that's pretty much where it all started. Great place to start!
C. I know you work with your husband who is a keyboard player--and I love the way you met. Tell us about that.
A. We met in NYC, that's when I started to discover that I wanted to sing. He placed an add in the paper for a singer, and I answered the add.
C. Was that the Village Voice?
A. Yes, that was the place at the time. He opened the door, and had a huge amount of albums, and we just sat and played music for about 10 hours--ah ah ah. He played me all different kinds of music. We sang and played It was the best audition I ever had!
C. So it wasn't really that you grew up singing, you started when you met Stuart.
A. I was in a few plays, at age 7, I performed in productions of "South Pacific" and "The Sound Of Music", and I also took 10 years of piano lessons, but I was never really a singer, didn't think about it as a career, and I wasn't a trained singer as a child. I was very, very focused on school, and I actually went on to be a pre-med student in Boston. It wasn't till the end of college that I met Stuart and I began singing professionally .
C. Now, Annie, tell us about your songwriting. What inspires you?
A. I'm very inspired by the area of the Hudson River. One of our songs, "Watch The River Run" is written about the river. One of the main attractions that inspires me are the bridges, and the lights at night. It could be the George Washington Bridge or the Tapan Zee. I'm very inspired by the lights and the beauty of the area.
C. Now you've played many cafes and NYC cabarets, book stores as well as places here in the Hudson Valley.
A. Yes. We've been playing mostly Borders. They have great audiences in the cafes! We have played some very interesting shows out here. One was in Sugar Loaf NY, and one of the interesting aspects of that I found was that they had haystacks for the audience to sit on.
C. It's a beautiful little town.
A. Yeah. Coming from the city, to have your audience sitting on haystacks was really cool.
Piermont was a great place to play. We played festivals two years in a row, outside in the park. The backdrop there is the Hudson River and the Tapan Zee Bridge. It was just a very exciting place to play--The people were great!
C. Your inspirations were all around you.
A. Very much. We also played up at the Rhinebeck craft Fairs for two years. The farms up there are beautiful! There is just so much inspiration in the Hudson Valley.
C. Definitely is, and we're about to listen to your new song "My Number One". You and Stuart have put out other music before.
A. We have put out a few singles, and we have a new album out called "Sweet Destiny" which is a compilation of some of our work over the years. This song tonight is co-written with David Grow who is a multiplatinum, Grammy-nominated producer and writer, and with my husband Stuart, who has had 4 singles and is a phenomenal keyboardist also, We got together and recorded "My Number One". David has worked with Jim Brickman, and he also has a #5 hit with Anne Cochran and many other top 40 hits. He is just a joy to work with!
C. Sounds like a good collaborative chemistry.

FLY BUTTERFLY

Recording artist, singer-songwriter Annie Hecht's new CD "FLY BUTTERFLY" is a vibrant combination of dance, ballads and pop music. The CD is produced by Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum producer David Grow, and co-written with David Grow and Stuart Hecht. A national radio promotion campaign and concerts now accompany the release of the CD. Annie has combined her unique vocal stylings with some of the world's finest musicians to create "FLY BUTTERFLY".

Journey Through Our CD

Songs

"FLY LIKE A BUTTERFLY" expresses the freedom of love, the promise of hope and faith, and the pursuit of dreams and destiny. It compares life and love to the simplicity and beauty of the butterfly. They are gorgeous winged beauties of creation and can fly thousands of miles..., their metamorphosis is amazing. They start out in their cocoons, brilliant chrysalises, as caterpillars and through change, growth, transformation, and a miracle they become amazing colorful butterflies. Butterflies are a symbol of hope and faith. David asked me what I wanted to write about and what I was feeling at the time--it was last summer and the lyrics to "Fly Like A Butterfly" came to me.

The music to "BABY LET'S DANCE" was written first in Nashville, and the lyrics and melody were written in the studio here in NYC while we were recording the last songs for the CD. It was our last song written--literally at the eleventh hour--to complete the CD. It's about dancing the 'dance of love and life' with your true love, and about the joy of movement--"move to the beat we're feeling in our hearts", taking a chance on love, finding the 'the one' and being as one.

"DREAM" came along in the last week of our recording sessions. It is written by Jim Brickman and Victoria Shaw. David asked me if I'd like to sing it and we recorded our version for "Fly Butterfly" that week in NYC. Thank you Jim and Victoria! "Dream" fits in well with the ideas on our CD,--romantic, love, dreamy-It's about finding your ultimate dreams in life.

When writing a song, sometimes we talk about ideas and then a song begins to evolve. For "WHATCHA GONNA DO" we were deciding what we should write next, and then David presented this song to me. It's a catchy little tune which talks about higher love, winning love, feeling the beat of love, and when you find love, something we all like to know, "Watcha Gonna Do" with my love.

"LOVE ME LIKE I LOVE YOU" is about giving and receiving love. It's about being thankful for love, wanting to reciprocate love, and to know if the other person feels the same way. Love is the ultimate answer.

"MY NUMBER ONE" was the first song that David sent to me, upon our radio promoter's suggestion that we collaborate. I immediately thought it was the right song at the right time for me to sing. I loved the music and the players. It sounded great! I made some changes vocally and lyrically, Stuart added some piano and ideas, and within a few weeks we recorded it here in NYC. It made it to radio, and was also chosen by WHUD 100.7 NY for the Artist Spotlight. This was the beginning of our CD. The song is a beautiful ballad about the miracle of love and life, wholehearted love, and number one love.

"PARADISE" reflects the nature of love and creation. It compares love with the natural beauty of the islands, and of creation and paradise. True love is the greatest gift. Island life can portray the true meaning of life, and existence in it's natural state. Everytime I see the turquoise ocean, palm trees swaying, beautiful and colorful reefs and fish, shells, tropical fruits, and people enjoying the sea, sand and each other...I am reminded of how great, and filled with love, our world truly can be, and how wonderful it is to be part of it.

"CELEBRATE" was our 4th song written, it was at a time when we were deciding if we should go ahead and make a whole CD together. We deliberated this independent decision for a while. then due to the course of events in life, we decided to take a chance, work hard and go for it. Sometimes the best thing you can do in life is to focus on the positive which is what we did, and we wrote this song. It reflects love, friendship, seeing the light through the tougher times, and the power of love and truth over all. "Life is a journey, love is our road..let's celebrate!"

Journey Through Our CD-con'td

"RAINBOW" was written last summer. As we collaborated on song topics and ideas, David asked me what I felt strongly about. I tossed the ideas around with Stuart, and came up with the lyrics to "Rainbow". They are about when you find love in life, how it can be challenged, and how love, like a rainbow, shines on through it all, and it's true promise lasts forever. The power of love brings light to our lives. It's about love and friendship. With love and faith, "we'll hold on to the rainbow's end."

"ONE SWEET LOVE" was the second song we worked on with David. In the spring, on his way to London, David stopped in NYC and he came up to the Hudson Valley to collaborate with me and Stuart on the piano. We wrote "One Sweet Love". This was the beginning of thinking about making a CD. The song is a simple love song which propelled us into songwriting for the CD. With David's production and writing, my singing and writing, and Stuart's playing and input we kept moving forward.

"I BELIEVE" was our 3rd song written. This song became the deciding factor to move ahead with the CD. Stuart had written music to numerous songs, and I had many lyrics, and some music. We presented them to David. We worked long and diligently on them for a few months. The result was the song "I Believe", which we recorded in the city. It's about the awesome power of believing in love, giving and receiving love and how true love takes us higher. "Believe" was the catalyst to complete the CD. We teamed up with dance instructor Syd Berman at Club Fit. She choreographed a beautiful, dance stretch to the song and it ran in the Dance 'n Funk classes at the two clubs. We were invited to perform "I Believe", for which we appeared in the Journal News paper, and were also included in the Club Fit Focus Newsletter. Throughout the writing of the remaining songs, David suggested I set up a website--ANNIEHECHT.COM.

Thanks to our wonderful listeners, audience response, and the support of all our family, friends and colleagues, we are pleased to present to you our new release "FLY BUTTERFLY"

When composer/keyboardist Stuart Hecht placed an add in the NYC "Village Voice" seeking a singer for a band, singer/songwriter Annie first met Stuart, and they have been making music together ever since. Originally they worked on the lower east side and throughout Manhattan. From their beginnings of playing piano and singing at NYC cafes and clubs, they began securing gigs and soon achieved local, public, college and national airplay. To enhance their musical artistry and songwriting, and in addition to their individual musical careers, they completed masters studies in music and performance in the heart of the village at New York University. They have also coached under the direction of David Sorin Collyer (Michael Bolton, Kathleen Battle, Bette Midler, Paul Simon and many other great artists), Katie Agresta(Aerosmith, Bon Jovi), Diana Nikkolos (NYU), and Loretta DiFranco(Metropolitan Opera). Annie and Stuart have toured Borders Books and Music stores, Barnes and Nobles, Starbucks, and numerous NYC cafes and cabarets, including the popular "Bitter End", and "Upstairs at Rose's Turn". They have also volunteered their musical talents to various outreach programs. Their music has been played on national radio. SINGLE-"FLY LIKE A BUTTERFLY"

"Fly Like A Butterfly" expresses the freedom of love, the promise of hope and faith and the pursuit of dreams and destiny. It compares love and life to the simplicity and beauty of the butterfly. Butterflies are gorgeous, winged beauties of creation. They can fly thousands of miles..., their metamorphosis is amazing. They start out in their cocoons, brilliant chrysalises, as caterpillars and through change, growth, tranformation and a miracle they become amazing, colorful butterflies. Butterflies are a symbol of faith, hope and love.--ah
