Sam Mims is a BMI-affiliated songwriter, music producer, and keyboardist, and is the owner of Syntaur, where he produces and directs the 'Synth Wizards' video series.
Sam was keyboardist for the contemporary jazz band SnapDragon, and produced their 2008 debut CD, Stealing a Moment, which broke the Top 100 in U.S. radio airplay (Smooth Adult Contemporary charts). Formerly, he spent several years as keyboardist with jazz saxophonist Richard Elliot (Capitol/Manhattan), touring around the world and recording several albums which went to the number one spot in both radio airplay and record sales. He also toured throughout Asia and recorded with Malaysian pop star Zainal Abidin, a multi-platinum selling artist on Warner Brothers. Sam has created music for National Public Radio's All Things Considered, for many television and radio commercials, and for scores of planetarium shows.
Just before the New Year, my song 'Black Onyx' was selected through Broadjam as a jazz instrumental for sports programming.
