Anup proficiently plays the sitar, tabla, and the keyboard, with his personal favorite being the sitar. He has been playing both tablas and sitar for over thirty years. He received training from his mother, Sitaben, his guru Shri Nikhil Ghosh, Pt. Nayan Ghosh, Gulam Hussain, Iyaz Khan and has been inspired by Ravi Shankar and Ashwin Batish. Although he doesn't consider himself a master, his advanced musical development, both as an instrumentalist and as a composer is easily noticeable. The enthusiastic support from friends and family encouraged him to found Sitar Records.
