Antoinette Nesbitt, Songwriter

ANTOINETTE NESBITT
Songwriter
Life isn't just a bowl of cherries; it's dealing with all the pits that provides songwriters a plethora of inspiration.

Antoinette Nesbitt writes simple songs that people can relate to---universal themes, like
life, love, hopes and dreams, having fun, letting go or refusing to let go. Everyone can connect
on some level to Antoinette's songs, whether it be the raw pain of losing a loved one as
portrayed in "Forever In My Heart," or any working person's sigh of relief for the weekend
at the stroke of 5pm each Friday, as depicted in "(I Love Them) Rhythm & Brews."
Soaring melodies, memorable word-plays, and ear-catching harmonies flow freely in her songs.
You find yourself singing along even though you're only hearing the song for the first time.

"Emotions drive the process. Intense love, pain and heartache, dysfunctional codependency,
the best and the worst of times, you name it, it all feeds the fire. Writing is more spiritually
and emotionally cleansing than any amount of therapy, and much less expensive. It's the best
stress reliever I've found; while immersed in the process, EVERYTHING other than the writing
disappears from my memory banks."

Antoinette's musical influences are many, crossing the spectrum of musical genres:
Elton John, Lionel Richie, Jim Croce, Bonnie Raitt, Al Green, BB King, Willie Nelson, Wynonna, Sheryl Crow, Dolly Parton, Ronnie Milsap, and Stevie Wonder. It's no wonder her music reflects
a blend of country, blues, and adult contemporary flavors, with a dash of pop, rock, and soul to sweeten the mix.

Music has always been a big part of Antoinette's life. Born and raised in Marshall, Texas,
she has played the piano since the age of five. She later set her sights on Austin, where
she graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Music (piano.)
Antoinette has been honing her songwriting skills for the past 19 years. And most recently,
Antoinette's song "(I Love Them) Rhythm & Brews" gained national attention by placing as a Finalist in the VH-1 Song of the Year Contest, an internationally-known songwriting competition supporting VH-1's Save the Music Foundation, as well as receiving Honorable Mention commendations in the Great American Song Contest, an annual songwriting competition.

In a world where most feel defined by their differences, Antoinette's songwriting celebrates
the commonality of emotions and experiences that intertwine all of our lives. Once the pits
of life's cherries have been extracted, there's plenty of sweetness to savor if you just allow
yourself to enjoy the fruit.
