Alicia Grugett, lyric coloratura soprano, was born in Havana, Cuba. Her family came to the United States, to flee from a communist regime. She graduated from University of Miami with a Bachelor of Music degree in Voice and received her Master of Music degree in Voice Performance from the University of Michigan, both on scholarship. Alicia has sung with the Miami Opera, the Pittsburgh Opera apprentice program, the New Jersey State Opera, the Capital City Opera (Atlanta), the Allentown Symphony, the Atlanta Symphony and has won numerous vocal competitions.

Alicia is currently working on a CD which will be a crossover album, incorporating songs sung by Josh Groban. Her wish is to
become a recording and touring artist in the new classical contemporary genre so that she may reach a wider audience. Alicia's singing is full of emotion, and she conveys to her audiences - the truth of the lyrics of every song she sings, along with her tremendous joy, passion and love for music.

New CD "Alicia Grugett with love" will be released in early May of 2008. It is in the new classical contemporary genre, similar to Andrea Bocelli and Josh Groban.

Alicia will be singing the role of Madame Warblewell with the Capital City Opera , Atlanta, GA in September of 2008.
