Only 23 years old, and still nothing stopping this talented southern boy from exceeding. Adam began his profesional music career with the band, Suburban Shakedown. Together they released two albums and played all over the southeast including opening up for headliners Sugar Ray and the Spin Doctors. But over mutual differences, the group split ways. In the wake Hurricane Ivan, destruction left the Roth family devestated and looking for answers amidst the destruction and rebuilding their lives. With the help of veteran producer Eric Lynn (Ziggy Marley, Keb'Mo'), A Little Voodoo was recorded during the summer of 2006 and features a strong combination of accomplished musicians including Stevie Di Stanislao (David Gilmour, David Crosby), Stanley Behrens (Canned Heat), and Richie Hayward (Little Feat, Bob Dylan). A few of the songs even ended up in a new Tara Reid movie and on the popular Court TV show 'LA Confidential'.

Press Release

Los Angeles, CA (October 23, 2006) – Adam Roth, former frontman and guitarist for the Pensacola funk band, Suburban Shakedown, ventured out with his solo debut, A Little Voodoo. Filled with hypnotic melodies and the laid back swing of Roth’s crunchy guitar and charismatic vocals, the album is compiled of post-hurricane insight, a few Roth’s personal life lessons, and the a little offering of hope when life has you down and out.

“I wanted to keep this album simple and honest,” said Roth. “I’d gone through a few different struggles during its creation and (the songs) represent who I am on the flipside – a southern soul who lives and dies for rock ‘n roll.”

With he help of veteran producer Eric Lynn (Ziggy Marley, Keb'Mo'), A Little Voodoo was recorded during the summer of 2006 and features a strong combination of accomplished musicians including Stevie Di Stanislao (David Gilmour, David Crosby), Stanley Behrens (Canned Heat), and Richie Hayward (Little Feat, Bob Dylan). Tailored to Roth’s style, the album smoothly blends the soul of a southerner touched by the world around him with the heart of a rocker out to let loose.

“[Adam] ties up so many different styles, in ten years the album will still sound as good as it does now,” said Lynn. “Each song is very different but when you hear it, you know it’s Adam Roth.”

By the end of the summer, the album was complete, chocked full of hits like “Live & Die for Rock ‘N Roll,” “A Little Voodoo,” and even gained pre-release airplay for the memorium track, “Back to New Orleans”.

In the wake Hurricane Ivan, destruction left the Roth family devestated and looking for answers amidst the destruction and rebuilding their lives. And when Katrina hit, Adam, eager to make sense of the world and express himself, turned inward and began writing.

“[‘Back to New Orleans’] means a lot to me,” said Roth. “I have a love for that town like no other, it holds so many fond memories growing up.”

A Southern Rocker's Swan Song

Maybe it was his musically-inspired deep-south roots, or perhaps the magic in his eye upon receiving his first guitar that embedded a source of hypnotic melodies and stomping grooves into his blood. Whatever the case, music deeply rooted in the heart of musician, Adam Roth, is now unleashed with a new twist on southern rock ‘n roll.

Roth began his profesional music career with the Pensacola-based band, Suburban Shakedown. Together they released two albums and played all over the southeast including opening up for headliners Sugar Ray and the Spin Doctors. The funky rock band even began winning accolades including "Best Band" awarded by the Pensacola’s Independent News. But over mutual differences, the group split ways, leaving Adam anxious to wisely educate himself about the infamously unforgiving music business. As he packed his bags for a west-bound relocation, he enrolled in Hollywood’s famed Musicians Institute and headed for Southern California.

After graduating with a valuable education in stow, Adam began working in several facets of the music industry including publishing, record label administration and radio promotion. But the artist inside would not be contained much longer.

In the Spring of 2006, Adam began recording his solo debut, A Little Voodoo, with veteran producer Eric Lynn, creating a compilation of songs smoothly blended with the soul of a southerner and the heart of a rocker. By the end of the summer, the album was complete, chocked with hits like “Live & Die for Rock ‘N Roll” and “A Little Voodoo”.
