I was born and raised in a single-parent family by an amazing mum, in the north of England just outside Liverpool, in a very creative, unique family, in spite of the many challenges we experienced. Being the youngest, with 3 older sisters and my brother the eldest of us all, I had influences in many ways, and exposure to a large and varied culture of music. Pop music of the moment very much so.
Encouraged to study music at an early age I took a few years of piano lessons and in my teen years began to write as a way of expressing myself, which inspired me to write poems also. At age 17 I recorded for the first time, a pop cover song, at a studio in Liverpool, as I had discovered I liked singing. I didn’t find my feet with writing, singing and recording till a few years later, and began to collaborate with musicians and producers on whatever I was inspired to write at the time.
