BasementBeatz is a music company specializing in modern rap-influenced instrumental beatmaking, based in Pittsburgh, PA. The company was formed in early 2005 by co-founders and brothers, Jesse and Chad Reis. Chad was producing beats for Jesse to rap on for a few years prior to the company forming, as a hobby. Jesse started experimenting with sampling old records and making beats of his own after discovering some cool techniques for chopping and playing samples with Propellerhead's Reason Recycle program.

BasementBeatz was the winner of iStandard's Pittsburgh Producer of the Year in August of 2011 - the first-ever event in Pittsburgh. Their aim is to create unique, nonconventional instrumentals for artists to showcase their skill and cut through the monotony of all the similar-sounding music.
Heartbreakingly in March of 2020, older brother Jesse Reis passed away at the young age of 37. He will continue to live on through his family and of course his hundreds of musical compositions.
