Bio

Born in Massachusetts in March 1986, Ashley Espinal began performing at the age of five after enrolling in the San Jose Music Academy. In 1996, her mother and stepfather created The Latin School of Music and Arts, a performing arts academy based solely on the idea of education in music and dance. Thus her training began: lessons in jazz, ballet, modern, tap, modeling, voice and theater soon became the everyday lifestyle that now makes Ashley the artist that she is. From then on she participated in literally hundreds of presentations around the New England area showcasing her dance and vocal abilities. Her undeniable talent and love for the arts shone through her performances and soon she began presenting herself as a music artist.

Ashley began, and finished, recording her first studio album in 2006, an eclectic mix of pop, r&b and bachata, and then flew across seas to record her first music video for her single, Como Soy. That summer, she and a group of dancers and musicians toured the Dominican Republic and spread her music throughout the country via television, radio and live performances. "EL Caribe" a Dominican newspaper, described Ashley as "la nueva apuesta musical,... que nos presenta un flow diferente". This new flow and different style and image in the bachata world made Ashley increasingly popular and soon enough a household name. Her appearances were broadcast nationally and internationally on channels such as Supercanal, Telefuturo, and Teleantillas of Direct TV. Ashley then brought the project stateside and continues making several appearances on the East Coast--particularly New York, Florida, and Boston--even becoming an "artist to watch" on Channel 7 News' entertainment update.

Now recording and finalizing her second studio album, Ashley is returning to the stage more powerful than ever. For the first time, her own songs are being recorded; her thoughts and ideas are being showcased to truly reflect what she is about. With songs about women empowerment, lost loves, and self worth sung in English and Spanish make her songs strike the hearts of the many young Latin Americans who like her, understand the fusion of Latin and American beats.
