Tony Barnes Song Writer

Tony Barnes was born in 1964 and grew up in Ventura, California. He has played music ever since he can remember. He graduated from California State University Northridge with a B.A. in Sociology. He has an extensive background and experience working in the field of human services and writes about daily life experiences.
Tony sings, plays guitar, piano, bass, and drums and has written and played music for over twenty years.
Tony is also the founder and director of a non-profit organization called Peace Thru Music, dedicated to putting music into the hearts and hands of children (www.peacethrumusic.org).
Tony has had the pleasure to work with many industry people to help develop his music. He has worked with Teddy Jack Russell Bridges (Leon Russell’s son), Jonathan McEuen from MCA DreamWorks in Nashville (son of John McEuen from the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band), Burliegh Drummond from Ambrosia, (studio drummer and producer), Mary Harris who played and works with many well know artist, and toured as Jimmy Buffet’s keyboard player for many years.
Tony is the father of two young boys; Elias and Thatcher. He loves being a dad and enjoys spending time with his boys playing sports or music together.
Tony’s dream is to have his music played by an artist that believes in the message of the song. “A song tells a story. It opens up the heart and paints a picture for the mind. Music can move a body without touching it.”
Tony’s father was the lead singer in a group called The Pendeltons. “I was given up for adoption because of a lawsuit due to a copyright issue. I found my father thirteen years ago. I am a product of this industry and will continue to write and play music as long as I can.”
