I was sitting in my little red car at the end of a relationship, getting railed about all of the things I did wrong and my partner asked, "Why are you keeping me around?" We drove home and they got into bed and I went to my studio - I was compelled to write a song about all the things she said to me. So the song is actually directed to me, about a lover asking, "You are not concerned about my needs and you don't seem happy, so why am I here?"
