Diane is a singer/songwriter, choir director, and voice teacher in Santa Monica, California.

She was inspired to write music for children after the birth of her daughter, Ella. Her first children's album, "A Mother's Voice" is full of sensitive, fun, and educational songs in folk style. In 2005, it won Dr. Toy's 100 Best Children's Products and 10 Best Audio/Video Products as well as a Parent to Parent Adding Wisdom Award. The texts are geared towards children, but the music was written with both parents and kids in mind. Diane's songs stand the test of time with people of all ages.

Diane is currently writing songs for a new album... this time for adults!

Diane is the founder and director of the Namasté Women's Choir which is a choir for women based in West Los Angeles. She also conducts the choir at Beth Shir Sholom during the High Holy Day season and sings with the Los Angeles Choral Artists.

About Diane by Diane

As either an appreciator or a performer, one has the opportunity to learn an enormous amount about the world and about themselves through art. When I was a music teacher, I always tried to teach my students about more than music. Now as a mother, I have become a teacher in my own home, and I often use music to help teach my daughter. With this shift from classroom to playroom, I have emerged a songwriter.

My songs are respectful of each child's intelligence and individuality. They are accessible to children while also being complete musical experiences that appeal to adults. My hope is that children and their parents will enjoy and share the songs together and talk about what they hear. I just released my first CD, “A Mother’s Voice”. For it, I chose a simple format of acoustic guitar and voice to create an intimate, campfire atmosphere. In 2005, my CD won both the Dr. Toy 100 Best Children's Products and 10 Best Audio/Video Products as well as a Parent to Parent Adding Wisdom Award.

A portion of the proceeds for the album sales are going to Kidsave International which is an organization that finds permanent homes for children in orphanages and foster care all over the world.

In my other life I am a choir director. I founded and am the director of the Namasté Women's Choir. I currently direct the choir at Beth Shir Sholom, and I am a singer with the Los Angeles Choral Artists and Vox Femina. Previously, I directed the University Campus Choir (a community chorus based at UCLA) for three seasons. I was the choir director at Fairfax High School and Ramona Convent Secondary School. I teach voice privately in my home.

I live in Santa Monica, CA with my daughter, Ella and my husband Andrew. I have a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from NYU and a Master's in Choral Conducting from CSULA.

I hope you enjoy my music!
