Darling Friend
Darling Friend is Neil Nathans lap steel heavy re-interpretation of Ludwig von Beethovens "Fur Elise." The video is a surreal, NYC, Dia De Los Muertos homage directed by Vaj Potenza (My Brightest Diamonds "Freak Out Gold Chains Remix") and choreographed by Suzanne Rydz. Darling Friend is the second single off Neils covers EP, Songsmiths. Produced by long time steel collaborator Mike Slo-Mo Brenner (Slo-Mo, ex-of Marah, Jason Molina, and The Low Road), it features unique, low-fi arrangements to the Small Faces "All or Nothing," Laptops "Im So Happy You Failed," and "Mia" by Chris Malcarney of the Philadelphia power pop band, The Donuts. The lead single is Neils folky version of ELOs "Do Ya," featured on Showtimes Californication and on the Season 2 Soundtrack alongside Sheryl Crow, Warren Zevon, and Nick Cave.
