James Collin is an instrumental musician and composer focusing on music for use in film and video. His style ranges from ambient electronic to blues, rock and even classical genres, although a sense of minimalism pervades most of his work.
James is influenced by numerous artists and genres, chiefly minimalists and jazz musicians, as well as more recent, popular artists. His work carries very cinematic and emotional qualities and seems to tell stories and paint pictures with harmony and melody.
He has performed live, either solo or with an ensemble, on several occasions, at coffee shops, art galleries, basements and venues within the great state of Michigan. James Collin resides in Chicago, IL and occasionally performs live with friends in the area.
